Meaning

This proverb is an extreme and often sarcastic way of saying that one would rather do anything, no matter how unpleasant or unusual, than be idle. It emphasizes a strong aversion to idleness and a preference for activity, even if the activity itself is undesirable. ይህ ምሳሌ አንድ ሰው ስራ ከማጣት ይልቅ ምንም ያህል የማያስደስት ወይም ያልተለመደ ቢሆንም ማንኛውንም ነገር እንደሚመርጥ የሚያሳይ እጅግ ከባድ እና ብዙ ጊዜ ስላቅ ነው። ስራ ፈትነትን ከመጥላት እና እንቅስቃሴን ከመውደድ የተነሳ የሚነገር ነው። ልጁን ማፋታት የሚለው ቀጥተኛ ትርጉም ሳይሆን የስራ ፈትነትን መጥላት ምን ያህል እንደሆነ ለማሳየት ነው።
