This proverb warns against being fooled by superficial pleasantries or temporary good conditions. October (Tikimt) in Ethiopia is often sunny and pleasant after the rainy season, but initial beauty or pleasantness might not reflect deeper substance or lasting benefit. It advises looking beyond appearances.

ይህ ምሳሌ ላዩን ባሉ ደስ የሚሉ ነገሮች ወይም ጊዜያዊ ጥሩ ሁኔታዎች እንዳትታለል ያስጠነቅቃል። የጥቅምት ቀን (ከዝናብ በኋላ ፀሐያማና ደስ የሚል ቢሆንም) እና የቆንጆ ሴት ሳቅ ጥልቅ የሆነ እውነትን ወይም ዘላቂ ጥቅም ላይታይ ይችላል። ከውጫዊ ገጽታ በላይ ማየት እንደሚገባ ያመላክታል።
