ንጉስ ከግንቡ ውጭ ይታማል

Meaning

This proverb means that people only dare to criticize, gossip about, or challenge those in power when they are not in their immediate presence or under their direct authority. Inside the king's palace walls, everyone shows respect; outside, away from his immediate reach, people feel free to speak ill of him. It reflects the fear of authority and the privacy of criticism.

ትርጉም

ይህ ምሳሌ ሰዎች ሥልጣን ላይ ያሉትን ለመተቸት፣ ለመንገር ወይም ለመቃወም የሚደፍሩት ከቅርብ ቁጥጥራቸው ወይም ከሥልጣናቸው ክልል ውጭ ሲሆኑ ብቻ እንደሆነ ያሳያል። በንጉሡ ግድግዳ ውስጥ (በፊቱ ወይም በግዛቱ) ሁሉም ሰው አክብሮት ያሳያል፤ ከውጭ፣ ከቅርብ እጁ ርቆ፣ ሰዎች ስለ እርሱ ክፉ ነገር ለመናገር ነፃነት ይሰማቸዋል። የሥልጣን ፍርሃትና የትችት ግላዊነትን ያሳያል።
