ከነገሩ ጾም እደሩ

Meaning

This proverb advises complete avoidance of troublesome, contentious, or morally compromising situations. It suggests that it's better to distance oneself entirely from a problematic 'matter' (ነገር), even if it means foregoing potential benefits or comfort (symbolized by fasting from a meal), to avoid entanglement and its negative consequences.
