Meaning

This proverb advises individuals to be valuable, effective, and to assert their worth, primarily for their own benefit and survival. If one does not prove their utility or significance, they will be discarded or disregarded as useless, just as tasteless salt would be thrown away like a stone. It's a call for self-preservation and demonstrating one's importance.
