✦

“A poor person always finds food to eat, but not money to pay.”

Meaning

This proverb suggests that a poor person, while they might always find a way to secure food for their daily sustenance (e.g., through begging, aid, or other means), will struggle to find the means to pay off debts or fulfill other financial obligations. It highlights the economic aspect of poverty, stating that for the poor, making monetary payments is a much greater challenge than finding food.
