ያዳቆነ ሰይጣን የግል ኮሌጅ ከፈተ

Meaning

This is a sarcastic proverb highlighting hypocrisy or superficial change. It implies that someone inherently bad or corrupt (a 'devil' who was a 'deacon') has taken on a respectable or influential role (opening a college), suggesting that their true nature remains unchanged or that their new venture is equally dubious.
