በአፍ ይበሉበታል እንጂ ክፉ አይናገሩበትም

Meaning

This proverb instructs on the proper use of speech. It means that the mouth is given for eating and sustenance (a beneficial function), and therefore, it should not be used for speaking evil, gossip, or hurtful words. It advocates for mindful and positive communication, and warns against destructive speech.

ይህ ምሳሌ የሚያሳየው አፍ ለምግብነት (ጠቃሚ ተግባር) ሲውል፣ ለክፉ ንግግር ወይም ሐሜት መዋል እንደሌለበት ነው። የአንደበትን አጠቃቀም በተመለከተ ጥንቃቄ ማድረግን እና ጥሩ ነገሮችን ብቻ መናገርን ይመክራል።
