ከኛ ወዲያ ፉጨት አፍ ለማሞጥሞጥ
“Beyond our reach, whistling only leads to licking one's lips.”
Meaning
This proverb signifies that when a desired outcome, opportunity, or object is unattainable or beyond one's capacity, merely expressing longing or engaging in superficial discussions (represented by 'whistling') about it is futile. Such actions only serve to highlight the unfulfilled desire or regret (represented by 'licking one's lips') without any tangible benefit or possibility of achievement. It warns against wasting time and emotion on what is inherently out of reach.
