ይህ ምሳሌ የሚያመለክተው ታላቅ እና ስመጥር የሆነን ነገር ወይም ሰው ማንም ቢሆን ሊጎዳው ወይም ሊያጠፋው እንደማይችል ነው። 'አባይ' ታላቅ ወንዝ ከመሆኑም በላይ የብዙዎች የውሃ ምንጭ በመሆኑ ህልውናው አይቀየርም። የእሱ እናት ደግሞ የውሃውን ምንጭ ወይም መሰረቱን የምትወክል ስለሆነች፣ መሬታዊ ማንነቷ አይነካም። በመሆኑም ትልቅ ቦታ ያለው ወይም ብዙዎችን የሚያገለግል ነገር በቀላሉ የማይጠፋ ወይም የማይጎዳ መሆኑን ይገልጻል።
