Meaning

This proverb signifies that both one's wife and a Dawit (Psalter, a book of Psalms, often carried for spiritual guidance and protection) are extremely personal, cherished, and kept very close to one's being. 'From the armpit' symbolizes intimacy, privacy, and something essential that is always by one's side.

ይህ ብሂል ሚስትና ዳዊት (መጽሐፈ ዳዊት) ለሰው ልጅ ምን ያህል ቅርብና አስፈላጊ እንደሆኑ ያሳያል። ሁለቱም ለባለቤታቸው በጣም ቅርብ፣ የግልና ጥበቃ የሚደረግላቸው መሆናቸውን ያመላክታል።
