“A baboon that spent the day idly (or perched) entered after consuming grain.”
Meaning
This proverb describes a situation where someone appears idle or inactive, but is actually causing damage, consuming resources, or benefiting from something without apparent effort. The baboon, though seemingly just sitting around, managed to consume the grain unnoticed. It is used to describe someone who, despite appearing to do nothing, subtly undermines others' efforts, consumes resources, or reaps benefits that they did not visibly work for. It highlights a deceptive idleness that leads to an outcome, often negative or selfish.
