Meaning
This proverb illustrates that you cannot trust a predator or someone with a conflicting interest to protect what they naturally desire to harm or consume. Entrusting something valuable to an untrustworthy person will inevitably lead to loss or betrayal.

ተኩላ (ጅብ) ጥጆችን እንዲጠብቅ ሲጠየቅ፣ 'ይጠፉብኛል' ማለቱ፣ አዳኝ የሆነን አካል አደን በሚሆን ነገር ላይ መሾም የማይቻል መሆኑን ያሳያል። በማይተማመንበት ሰው እጅ ውድ ነገር ማስቀመጥ ወደ ጥፋት እንደሚያመራ ይገልጻል።
