እድር እስከ በጌምድር

ትርጉም

'Idir' is a traditional Ethiopian social institution for mutual aid and support, primarily for funeral expenses and other community needs. This proverb means that the spirit of mutual support, community responsibility, and solidarity should extend widely, even to distant places or people (Begemdir being a historical region, often used to denote a far-off or extensive reach). It emphasizes broad communal responsibility.
