ይህ ምሳሌ አንድ አስፈላጊ ነገር ወይም መሰረታዊ ድጋፍ ከጠፋ፣ በእሱ ላይ ጥገኛ የሆኑት ሁሉ እንደሚጠፉ ያሳያል። ውሃው ሲደርቅ አሳው እንደሚሞት ሁሉ፣ መሰረታዊው ነገር ከሌለ ምንም ነገር ሊኖር አይችልም ማለት ነው።
