Meaning

This proverb questions the sincerity and depth of someone's words or actions. 'From the guts/heart' signifies genuine feeling, conviction, or deep-seated truth, whereas 'from the throat/neck' implies superficiality, mere lip service, or speaking without true emotion or commitment. ይህ ብሂል የአንድን ሰው ንግግር ወይም ድርጊት ቅንነት ይጠይቃል። 'ከአንጀት' ማለት እውነተኛ ስሜትን፣ እምነትን ወይም ጥልቅ እውነትን ሲያመለክት፣ 'ከአንገት' ማለት ደግሞ ውጫዊነትን፣ ላዩን ንግግርን ወይም እውነተኛ ስሜት ሳይኖር መናገርን ያመለክታል። ንግግሩ ከልብ የመነጨ ነው ወይስ ባዶ ቃል ነው የሚል ጥያቄ ያቀርባል።
