እጅ ከልብስ ምላስ ከጥርስ

✦

“Hand from clothes, tongue from teeth.”

Meaning

Just as a hand is separated from clothes (which it uses), and a tongue is separated from teeth (which surround it), this proverb can imply detachment or the need for control. It often refers to the importance of discretion and controlling one's speech.
