Meaning

This proverb describes someone who only shows respect, love, or appreciation to a person after they are gone (dead). It highlights the regret of not valuing someone while they were alive or the hypocrisy of post-mortem praise.

ይህ ምሳሌ ለአንድ ሰው ሞቶ ከሄደ በኋላ ብቻ አክብሮት፣ ፍቅር ወይም አድናቆት የሚያሳይን ሰው ያመለክታል። በህይወት እያለ አንድን ሰው ዋጋ አለመስጠትን ወይም ከሞት በኋላ የሚሰጠውን ምስጋና ግብዝነትን ያጎላል።
